Last week, the organizers of the Amway River Bank Run announced that the 2020 race has been rescheduled from May 9 to Oct. 24.
All April training events and early May pre-race activities have been canceled. A new training and event schedule will be shared as soon as possible.
The social distancing required to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of many events nationwide so the Amway River Bank Run is no exception. The safety of the runners, volunteers and supporters is at the center of this decision, according to organizers.
“We fully acknowledge the inconvenience this will cause and are working tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition,” according to a statement from organizers. “This is a difficult time for everyone, so we ask for your continued patience as we navigate the coming weeks.”
Organizers said they are still looking for the community’s continued support and encourage people to sign up for the electronic newsletter at https://amwayriverbankrun.com/enews-signup/.
