Traverse City

This April, Traverse City is celebrating all things wellness. As spring weather returns to northern Michigan—bringing blossoms, blue skies, and fresh starts—there’s no better time to think about our mental and physical health.

The Traverse City area has long been a destination for outdoor enthusiasts who explore the endless trails and waterways through all four seasons. Wellness Month activities will encourage guests to get outside to recharge and reconnect…as well as to stay in for spa treatments, yoga classes, and healthy dining options. And you know it wouldn’t be a true Traverse City celebration with a wine tasting or two. (Everything in moderation, right?)

“Northern Michigan is the perfect place to start a wellness journey,” said Jennifer Case, Vice President of Marketing of Traverse City Tourism. “We have the beauty of the natural world around us, and at the same time have world-class opportunities for healthy living at our businesses and restaurants. The moment you arrive, you’ll start breathe a little deeper.”

Wellness Month visitors can also enjoy special spring events, including a free admission day on April 18 at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, guided tours of the Village at Grand Traverse Commons, and the Traverse City Chocolate Festival on April 19. For the athletes, the Traverse City Trail Running Festival offers 5K-50K races the weekend of April 24–25.

All month long, wellness packages will be available for visitors at various lodging properties in the region. In addition to special rates, guest will receive a goodie bag to make the first steps toward wellness even easier.
