Kellogg Manor House

Fall craft workshops offered by the Kellogg Manor House

Learn new crafting skills and enjoy the fruits of your efforts through two upcoming make-and-take events offered at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station.

Both classes will meet in the KBS Carriage House’s classroom, and supplies will be provided. To register and reserve your spot, call (269) 671-2160 or write to conference@kbs.msu.edu.

Fall Floral Arrangement class is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11. Join Sherri Snyder, local artist and owner of Green Goddess Gardens, and design your own fresh floral arrangement with seasonal foliage and locally grown flowers using a pumpkin as a vessel. No experience is necessary; pruners or floral shears are helpful but not required. No experience is necessary; the cost is $50 for Manor House members, and $55 for non-members.

Block Cut Prints on Fabric class is set for 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 12. In this hands-on workshop instructor Mary Arkush will demonstrate how to cut a block or lino cut plate, show you what materials you need and where to get them. Attendees will then create their own designs using the provided stamps and other materials, and also are welcome to bring fabric such as T-shirts or aprons from home to work with. No experience is necessary; the cost is $40 for Manor House members, and $45 for non-members.
