Historian Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky will celebrate Betty Ford at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum on April 8 at 6:30 p.m. Chervinsky will discuss how Betty’s legacy shares much in common with that of Abigail Adams, wife of President John Adams, highlighting the often overlooked influence of First Ladies.

Adams and Ford served as important political advisors to their husbands, expressed their opinions freely, and unabashedly occupied the political space of their age. Learn about their unique tenures in the White House and how they shaped the role for their successors.

“Lindsay Chervinsky is a fantastic choice to help us celebrate Betty Ford’s 107th birthday,” said Gleaves Whitney, Executive Director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. “Dr. Chervinsky is a renowned presidential historian who brings invaluable expertise to the table.

“Her insights will not only deepen our appreciation of Betty Ford’s legacy, but also highlight the pivotal, often overlooked, influence of First Ladies in shaping political history.”

Registration for this free public event can be found here.
