Learn to identify Michigan trees in winter at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary

No leaves? No problem. Join Dr. Danielle Zoellner and naturalist Misty Klotz at the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuarynext month to learn to identify common Michigan trees and shrubs using growth form, bark, buds and twigs.

 

The Winter Tree Identification workshop is set for 1 – 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, and includes a hike on the Sanctuary’s scenic trails to practice identifying tree species, warm beverages to enjoy, and informational materials to take home.

 

The cost of participation is $25 for Sanctuary members, and $35 for non-members, and registration is required. An alternate date is set for Friday, February 14th, in case of inclement weather.
