For those who attended the film programs hosted by former Wyoming resident Sid Lenger at Marge’s Donut Den, they would often hear Sid tell of his adventures filming for Mission India.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, area residents will have the opportunity to learn more about Mission India and the Indian culture through the program Taste of India at 317 Coffee, 3424 Chicago Dr., Hudsonville. The free event is from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Mission India was founded by John DeVries, who lives in the Kentwood area, in 1971. Seeing a need, DeVries connected with the Christians living in India. Through that partnership, Mission India has developed three ministry programs, Bible-Based Adult Literacy Class, Church Planter Training, and Children’s Bible Clubs.

317 Coffee is a family-owned, faith-based coffee house. According to its website, “Our purpose is to love people and serve a great cup of joe.”

At the Nov. 5 event, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a free cup of chai tea, Henna art, and discussions about Mission India and its work.

To sign up for the event, visit missionindia.org/taste/.
