Paws With A Cause (PAWS) is inviting all golf-enthusiasts to par-tee with PAWS Dogs on the golf course this summer with two special events!
The first is the inaugural PAWS Holland Scramble, which will take place on Saturday, June 22 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Winding Creek Golf Club in Holland.
This golf outing will be followed by the PAWS Battle Creek Classic on Saturday, July 27 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek.
Event details
Each golf outing includes coffee, lunch, goodie bags, raffle prizes, awards for the Best Dressed Team, and plenty of PAWS dogs and puppies to meet.
“These events are great opportunities to support the PAWS mission while also enjoying a really fun day of golf,” said Anne Barea, PAWS Battle Creek Classic Event Coordinator and PAWS Board Member.
Both events are a four-person scramble, with the option for individuals to sign up and be paired with three other teammates, or the option for observers to attend and enjoy lunch without playing.
“Even if you aren’t a golfer, we hope people will come visit with the dogs and learn more about all the incredible work being done at Paws With A Cause,” Barea continued. “Whether you play, sponsor a hole, or just visit for lunch, all of the proceeds support the life-changing work of PAWS Assistance Dogs.”
The PAWS Holland Scramble is $400 per 4-person team, $100 per individual, or $20 per lunch-only guest. The PAWS Battle Creek Classic is $360 per 4-person team (ages 21+), $320 per 4-person team (ages 20 & under), $90 per individual, or $20 per lunch-only guest.
Golf carts are included in the ticket cost for both events. Mulligans and putting string for both events can be purchased online ahead of each event, or on-site at registration.
Pre-golf mixer
Participants are welcome to attend one or both golf outings and a Pre-Golf Mixer with PAWS clients, dogs and volunteers on Friday, July 26 from 5 – 8 p.m. the day before the PAWS Battle Creek Classic.
The Pre-Golf Mixer is open to the public and will be held at the Moonraker in Battle Creek. Light appetizers will be provided and 10% of drink sales will be donated to PAWS.
“As the wife of a PAWS Client, I’ve seen first-hand what an impact an Assistance Dog can make,” said Diana Hoekstra, PAWS Holland Scramble Event Coordinator and PAWS Volunteer. “My husband Dave received his PAWS Service Dog SANTO back in 2021 and he has changed our lives forever. What PAWS does for people is so important and I hope people join us to golf and to learn why.”
