Woodland Mall to feature local artisans, produce vendors at fall festival

Woodland Mall will feature 12 local artisans and other vendors at its first-ever Fall Festival, slated for Saturday, Oct. 13.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., shoppers will have the opportunity to explore handcrafted goods, face painting and kids’ craft activities inside the mall, and enjoy live music by Lana Chalfoun, a 13-year-old singer-songwriter from Grand Rapids.

Also featured at the festival will be a free petting zoo on the outdoor plaza, which is located between Celebration! Cinema and Barnes & Noble.

Vendors include CannaBon Therapeutics, Cheers & Happiness, Daddy’s Dough Cookies, Firefly and Dragon Studio, Jellybird Craft Co., JustBejoyful Designs, Pinkbow Illustrations, Silver Spoon Jewelry, Treasure Me World, Tough Skin, Soft Heart powered by Shannon Cohen, Inc., Thimble Collection and Women At Risk, International.

Shoppers can further support local businesses by checking out the many Michigan-owned stores currently housed in the mall.

Nearly 20 percent of merchants at the mall are local businesses. This includes most kiosks throughout the mall and stores such as Cosmic Candy Company of Pentwater, Olga’s Kitchen of Detroit and Su Alterations, a family-owned chain serving West Michigan.

“Woodland Mall is a large local employer with more than 1,000 West Michigan employees, and we go beyond big box retailers with a diverse mix of Michigan-owned businesses,” said Cecily McCabe, marketing director. “We’re looking forward to welcoming more West Michigan talent to the mall at our inaugural Fall Festival.”

There is space available for additional Fall Festival vendors. Booth reservations and sponsorships may be made online.
